Bagnoli di Sopra (Bagnoli) DOC
The broad DOC that surrounds the Bagnoli Friularo DOCG, covering the same flat farmland but allowing the full range of colors and international grapes. The reds are Merlot and Cabernet blends with a share of Friularo for acidity, medium bodied and herbal; the whites are neutral blends of Chardonnay and Tai; the rosato and spumante from Raboso are the local curiosities, tart and cranberry-like. Il Dominio di Bagnoli makes nearly all of it and sells most from the estate. A one-producer appellation in practice.
