The Italy Wine Project

For producers, importers, and consorzi

Put your DOC on the board.

I'm tasting at least one wine from every DOC and DOCG in Italy and writing each one up here with a score. For most of these appellations there's almost no English-language writing anywhere. Search “Bivongi DOC” and you'll find a Wikipedia stub and not much else. My page for your appellation will likely be the first thing an American buyer, sommelier, or importer reads about it.

So far I've tasted 0 of the 410. 410 still need a bottle.

Here's what you get if your wine is the one I taste for your appellation

Consorzi: nominate one producer with stock in the US and I'll credit the consorzio on the appellation page.

The rules

Samples are welcome and every review says when the bottle was a sample. Scores are mine. There's no way to pay for a review or a score, and I'll say so on every page.

Getting a bottle to me

Send two bottles of each wine. One gets opened and scored, and the second covers a corked or heat-damaged bottle so a bad bottle doesn't cost you the review.

You can ship them straight to my address in Washington State, and your US importer sending them works just as well. Fill out the form, tell me which route you'll use, and I'll reply with the address.

Search all 410. Leave it blank if the wine spans several or you're not sure.

Two bottles of each wine please, one to taste and one as a backup against a corked or heat-damaged bottle. Ship them straight to my address in Washington State, or have your US importer send them. Tell me which.

I read every one and reply within a week.
