Barco Reale di Carmignano DOC
The junior label of Carmignano, named for the Medici hunting wall, covering the young red, the Vin Ruspo rosato, and the zone's Vin Santo. The red is the same Sangiovese and Cabernet blend as the DOCG but released young and unoaked: bright cherry, cassis, tobacco, light tannin and fresh acid, ideal at cellar temperature with salumi. Vin Ruspo is a darker, savory rosato; the Vin Santo from Capezzana is one of Tuscany's best sweet wines.
