Cagliari DOC
An umbrella DOC that absorbed the old single grape Cagliari appellations in 2011. Its most distinctive wines are the fortified and sweet Malvasia and Moscato in the Cagliari tradition: amber, nutty, with dried apricot, orange peel and a dry or off dry finish that pairs with pecorino and almond sweets. Dry Monica and Malvasia also appear. Production is small and dominated by a few historic houses around Cagliari.
