Candia dei Colli Apuani DOC
Steep marble-country terraces between the Apuan Alps and the Ligurian coast, a heroic-viticulture zone where Vermentino dominates and native reds like Vermentino Nero and Massaretta survive. The white is the reason to look: Vermentino with lemon, white peach, sage, a saline edge and crisp acid, similar to Liguria's Colli di Luni next door but often a touch riper. Reds are light, peppery and drunk locally.
