Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC
A dark, cherry colored rosato made from Montepulciano with a short maceration, often closer to a light red than a Provence pink. Expect sour cherry, pomegranate, orange peel, a little bitterness and real acid, sometimes with a faint tannic grip. Valentini's version is a cult wine that ages for decades; Tiberio and Cataldi Madonna make the reference everyday versions.
