Colli Perugini DOC
A broad DOC in the hills around Perugia, made mostly by one estate with real export reach, Goretti. The Rosso is a Sangiovese blend with Merlot and Cabernet, mid-weight with cherry, plum, tobacco and moderate tannin; the Grechetto is soft and nutty. Goretti's L'Arringatore, an oak-aged Sangiovese-Merlot-Ciliegiolo blend, is the one Colli Perugini wine with a following in the US. Otherwise the DOC is used for simple local wines.
