Costa d'Amalfi DOC
Vines on cliff terraces between Sorrento and Salerno, farmed by hand on pergolas above the sea. The whites are the story: Falanghina and Biancolella blends with lemon, white peach, fennel, wild herbs and a strong saline mineral note, and in Marisa Cuomo's Fiorduva a barrel-fermented blend of rare local grapes (Fenile, Ginestra, Ripoli) with apricot, candied citrus and honey. Reds from Piedirosso and the ancient Tintore vines of Tramonti are earthy, pale and sour-cherry fresh. Prices reflect the labor and the postcard.
