Falerio DOC
Falerio is the everyday white of the southern Marche, historically a Trebbiano-based blend with Passerina and Pecorino adding aroma. The blended Bianco is light, citrusy and neutral, a seafood wine. The Falerio Pecorino category, added in 2011, is the one worth seeking: it's fresher and a touch lighter than Offida Pecorino, with lime, green herbs, white pepper and a chalky finish, and it tends to cost less. Several Offida producers use the Falerio label for their entry-level Pecorino.
