Gutturnio DOC
Piacenza's red, a blend of Barbera and Croatina named after a Roman silver cup found in the Po. The everyday version is frizzante: deep purple, foamy, with blackberry, violet and a bitter, tannic finish that clears the palate after pisarei e fasò. Superiore and riserva are still, fuller and oak-aged, with plum, black pepper, dried herb and Barbera's acidity holding up Croatina's tannin. It's honest, food-first wine with little pretension.
