Lison (Veneto / Friuli-Venezia Giulia) DOCG
Friulano grown on the flat, calcareous plain where Veneto meets Friuli, promoted from the Lison-Pramaggiore DOC to its own DOCG in 2010 with the Classico zone around Lison village at its heart. It's dry, medium bodied and gently aromatic, with pear, white peach, wildflower and the grape's signature bitter almond finish, sometimes with a waxy texture from lees aging. Think of it as a slightly softer, rounder cousin of Collio Friulano. Bosco del Merlo, Borgo Stajnbech and Mulin di Mezzo are the names to look for.
