Marino DOC
Frascati's twin on the other side of the hill, famous for the October Sagra dell'Uva when the town fountain runs with wine. Same volcanic soils and Malvasia and Trebbiano blend, and the wine tastes much the same: pear, white flowers, a slightly bitter almond finish, low acid, made to be drunk young and cold. The Gotto d'Oro cooperative makes almost all of it; Colle Picchioni is the quality estate, though its best wines are Lazio IGT.
