Matino DOC

Puglia's oldest DOC (1971) and one of its most dormant, covering Negroamaro reds and rosati from the hills of southern Salento near Gallipoli. In style it's classic Negroamaro: ruby to garnet, dried cherry, plum, tobacco and bay leaf, dry and medium bodied with a bitter finish, and the rosato is coral, savory and cherry scented. Production is minuscule and mostly local; producers in the zone bottle Salento IGT instead.

Still hunting

I'm still looking for a bottle of this.

If you make Matino, import it, or know who does, the form takes two minutes and I reply to every one.

Can you help me get one?
