Menfi DOC
Sunny coastal hills in southwest Sicily, home to Planeta's original estate and the giant Settesoli cooperative. The DOC is best known for international grapes done in a ripe, polished style: Planeta's Chardonnay with tropical fruit, butter and toasty oak, and Cometa, a Fiano that leans into candied citrus, herbs and a saline, waxy finish. Reds are plush and warm. It's a modern, market driven appellation and easy to like.
