Monica di Sardegna DOC

Monica is Sardinia's everyday red grape, lighter and softer than Cannonau. Expect a medium ruby wine with red plum, raspberry, a touch of dried herb and pepper, low to moderate tannin and easy acidity, best drunk young and slightly cool with pasta or grilled pork. A few producers take it seriously and pull out more depth, but its role is Tuesday night wine at a fair price.
