Orta Nova DOC

An oddity among Puglian DOCs because it is built on Sangiovese rather than a native grape, a legacy of post war land reform plantings on the flat Tavoliere. The wines are light to medium bodied, red cherry, plum and dried herb with soft tannin and modest acidity, made for quick drinking. Production is close to nil and the DOC is effectively dormant; it survives on paper more than in bottles.

Still hunting

I'm still looking for a bottle of this.

If you make Orta Nova, import it, or know who does, the form takes two minutes and I reply to every one.

Can you help me get one?
