Pergola DOC

A small DOC built around Aleatico, which the locals call Vernaccia di Pergola. Unlike the sweet Aleatico of Elba and Puglia, Pergola is usually made dry: a light to mid-weight red with the grape's Muscat-like perfume of rose, raspberry, lychee and orange peel, soft tannin and fresh acidity. Villa Ligi is the driving producer and makes a superiore aged in oak plus a passito. It's rare, but Marc de Grazia imports Villa Ligi, so a few US shops carry it.

Still hunting

I'm still looking for a bottle of this.

If you make Pergola, import it, or know who does, the form takes two minutes and I reply to every one.

Can you help me get one?
