Ramandolo DOCG
A sweet wine from Verduzzo Friulano grown on terraced slopes at the edge of the Alps, where cold nights hold acidity while the grapes dry on the vine or in lofts. Verduzzo is a tannic white grape, so the wine is unusual: amber-gold, with dried apricot, chestnut honey, quince and baked apple, a firm phenolic grip on the finish and moderate sweetness. It's traditionally poured with gubana pastry or aged Montasio. Production is tiny.
