Riviera del Garda Classico DOC
Lake Garda's rosé DOC, home of Chiaretto, a pale pink wine pressed after a single night on the skins, a technique credited to Pompeo Molmenti in 1896. Groppello leads the blend and gives wild strawberry, white peach, rose and a faint bitter almond finish with lively acidity and a light saline touch. The Valtènesi reds from Groppello are pale, peppery and cherry-scented. It's an ideal lake wine, meant for lake fish and the first warm evenings.
