Rosazzo DOCG

A tiny DOCG carved out of the Colli Orientali for dry white blends grown around the medieval abbey of Rosazzo, on the marl and sandstone flysch the locals call ponca. Friulano leads, giving pear, almond and a waxy texture, with Sauvignon and Pinot Bianco adding citrus and lift and Ribolla adding acidity. The wines are medium to full bodied, dry, saline and built to age five to ten years. Livio Felluga's Terre Alte is the reason the DOCG exists.
