San Torpè DOC
A white-wine DOC named for the Pisan patron saint, covering Trebbiano-based whites and Vin Santo from the same hills where the reds go out as Terre di Pisa or Chianti Colline Pisane. The dry whites are simple and clean: lemon, green apple, almond, light body, brisk acidity. The Vin Santo is the more interesting product, amber and nutty with dried fig and walnut. Very little is bottled under the name and almost none leaves Italy.
