Sardegna Semidano DOC

Semidano is a low yielding native white that nearly vanished before the Cantina di Mogoro built a DOC around it in the 1990s. The wines are gold tinged, fuller than Nuragus, with ripe yellow apple, pineapple, acacia honey and a faintly bitter, waxy finish; the superiore from Mogoro shows real weight and a few years of ageing potential. Effectively a one producer appellation, which makes it a fun box to tick.

If you make Sardegna Semidano, import it, or know who does, the form takes two minutes and I reply to every one.
