Terre di Offida DOC
When Offida became a DOCG in 2011 the sparkling, passito and vin santo categories were spun off into this DOC, all based on Passerina. The spumante is the main product: a charmat or sometimes traditional method sparkler with green apple, citrus, white flowers and a soft mousse, cheap and cheerful. Passito and vin santo versions are rare, honeyed and nutty. Most of it is sold in the region, and the US sees very little, though Ciù Ciù and Velenosi both make Passerina sparklers.
