Vicenza DOC

A province-wide catch-all DOC for Vicenza's flatlands and foothills, used mainly by cooperatives and a few estates for wines that don't fit the tighter Colli Berici, Breganze or Gambellara rules. Expect straightforward varietal wines: clean Pinot Grigio and Garganega, grassy Sauvignon, soft Merlot and Cabernet, plus some tank sparkling. It's the Vicenza equivalent of a good IGT. Cavazza and the Vitevis co-op group (Colli Vicentini) bottle it in quantity.
