Zagarolo DOC
One of the smallest DOCs in Italy, a white only zone at the eastern tip of the Roman hills that has declared only a few hundred hectoliters in good years and often nothing. The wine, when it exists, is the standard Roman Malvasia and Trebbiano white: pear, white flowers, bitter almond, low acid, drink young. It survives on paper largely because nobody has bothered to cancel it.
Still hunting
I'm still looking for a bottle of this.
If you make Zagarolo, import it, or know who does, the form takes two minutes and I reply to every one.
