Calosso DOC

IL PROGETTODOCCALOSSOAAIT65193667Denominazione di Origine Controllata

No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.

A one-village DOC built around Gamba di Pernice ('partridge leg', for its red stems), a grape that survives on a few hectares. The wine is medium ruby with red currant, sour cherry, dried herbs and a pronounced pepper and bitter-almond edge, moderate tannin and high acid, and needs the mandatory aging to soften. Fewer than a dozen growers make it; Tenuta dei Fiori of Valter Bosticardo was the one who kept the grape going.

Still hunting

I'm still looking for a bottle of this.

If you make Calosso, import it, or know who does, the form takes two minutes and I reply to every one.

Can you help me get one?
