Every variety named in the rules of an Italian DOC or DOCG, pulled out of the 410 sets of rules themselves. 125 red, 116 white. Most of them you will never see on a label outside their own province.

The number beside each grape is how many of the 410 appellations allow it, counted from the rules rather than from planting figures. Where I have real planted area from an Italian source it appears on the grape's own page, and where I do not, the page says so.
