Custoza (Bianco di Custoza) DOC

A white blend from glacial hills between Verona and the lake, made from four or more grapes that each add something: Garganega for body, Trebbianello for aroma, Cortese for acidity. The result is pale, dry and gently aromatic with white peach, pear, wildflowers and a light almond bitterness, at 12 percent or so, a very good aperitif and fish wine. Superiore and riserva versions from Cavalchina and Monte del Frà get some lees aging and show more weight and a chalky texture. It's undervalued because it lacks a single grape to sell on.
