Gavi (Cortese di Gavi) DOCG
No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.
Piedmont's best-known dry white, a Cortese wine that historically fed the Genoese fish trade. Pale straw, lemon, green apple, white flowers and a faint bitter almond, with medium body, brisk acidity and a stony finish. Most is simple and fresh for drinking within two years; top single-vineyard bottlings from La Scolca, Villa Sparina and Broglia gain honey and nut notes with a few years of age.
