The top of the Barbera pyramid: 100% Barbera from the warmest, best-exposed hills of Asti with low yields and mandatory wood aging. The wines are dark, dense and glossy, black cherry, plum, blackberry, cocoa and clove, with a velvety texture and the grape's acidity holding it all together. Riserva and Vigna versions can age 10 to 15 years. Think of it as Barbera's Barolo.
