Savuto DOC

IL PROGETTODOCSAVUTOAAIT61800561Denominazione di Origine Controllata

No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.

A steep, terraced river valley DOC with a long history and, today, essentially one flagship estate, Odoardi. The reds combine Gaglioppo with Magliocco and Nerello and taste of blackberry, dried cherry, tobacco, earth and a peppery note, with medium-plus tannin and a warm, savory finish. Odoardi's style is riper and oakier than Cirò, closer to a southern Rhône. Plenty of the vineyard is now planted to Magliocco, the grape that's driving the Calabrian revival.

Still hunting

I'm still looking for a bottle of this.

If you make Savuto, import it, or know who does, the form takes two minutes and I reply to every one.

Can you help me get one?
