Strevi DOC
No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.
A passito-only DOC for dried-grape Moscato from the hills around Strevi, the so-called Valley of the Passiti. The grapes dry on racks for weeks before a slow ferment and at least a year in barrel, giving a deep gold, honeyed wine with dried apricot, candied orange, fig, sage and orange-blossom perfume, thick in texture but lifted by acid. It's the serious, grown-up end of Moscato, closer to a Sauternes-style sipper than to Asti. Marenco's Passrì Scrapona defined the category.
